First-time Ganty users: from signup to your first project, inviting teammates, and updating progress - in 5 minutes.
A 5-minute guide for first-time Ganty users to get their first project up and running.
Step 1: Create a free account
Sign up on the signup page with Google or your email address. No credit card required, free for up to 5 members.
Step 2: Create your first project
After logging in, click "+ New Project" in the dashboard. Enter a project name (e.g. "E-commerce site rebuild") plus start and end dates - that's it.
Step 3: Add tasks
You have two options.
- Manual entry: add tasks one row at a time
- AI bulk generation: type a single sentence like "Rebuild an e-commerce site in 3 months" and AI proposes tasks, dependencies, and durations all at once. See AI task generation.
For first-time users, AI generation is the fastest path. Adjust the draft manually once you have it.
Step 4: Invite teammates
Click "Members" in the top-right header and invite by email. Invitees can update their own tasks in real time. See team collaboration.
Step 5: Update progress
Click any task bar to update progress (0% β 50% β 100%). A weekly update cadence catches plan-vs-actual drift early.
