8-Month Wedding Planning Roadmap
A Tokyo-based couple in their 30s / 2 people + family
βThe biggest stress in wedding prep is the sheer volume of tasks. Mapping out all eight months from venue booking to the big day in a Gantt chart eliminated misalignment between us and made sharing with both families simple. Zero missed items, and we got to the wedding day calmly.β

Background
Eight months of wedding prep meant 100+ tasks across venue, attire, invitations, favors, entertainment, and family negotiations. Excel and phone notes weren't cutting it: "when is this due?" and "who's doing this?" kept colliding, and every weekend turned into a mini argument.
How they used Ganty
- Back-calculated schedule: phases derived backward from day-zero (venue β attire β invitations β favors β final review)
- Explicit ownership: bride, groom, parents, and venue contact color-coded on every task
- Milestones: irreversible decision points like "invitations sent" and "final guest count" placed as diamond markers
- Approval-wait tasks: family-confirmation steps as their own tasks (so they never get forgotten)
- External share link: parents get a view-only URL instead of email threads
Results
Prep-time arguments fell 80%. Family progress sharing collapsed into a single URL, killing the email back-and-forth. Day-of operations were fully mapped, so the couple could focus on the day itself. Friends getting married are now using the same template.
