4 reasons to choose Ganty

1

Start free — GanttPRO is trial-only

GanttPRO has no free tier — after a 14-day trial you must subscribe. Ganty is free for up to 3 members and 5 projects, with no time limit, so you can adopt at your own pace.

2

Drive it from Claude via MCP

Ganty supports the Model Context Protocol (MCP) out of the box, so you can read, write, and generate tasks from Claude Desktop / Cursor in natural language. GanttPRO has no MCP integration.

3

Flat pricing as your team grows

GanttPRO charges per user, with a 5-seat minimum on some plans. Ganty uses flat workspace pricing (from JPY 980/mo), so the base cost is the same for 5 or 20 members.

4

Japanese-native: holidays, invoice billing

Ganty is built in Japan — it reflects Japanese holidays (including substitute and citizens' holidays) out of the box and supports invoice billing and Japanese support, which global tools' localization rarely covers.

When GanttPRO may be a better fit

For an honest comparison, here are cases where the competitor may suit you better.

When you need deep resource, cost, and baseline management

If deep effort/cost estimation, baseline comparison, and portfolio management are priorities, GanttPRO is more mature. Ganty offers lighter versions (e.g., a unified workload view).

When brand track record matters most

GanttPRO has years of reviews on G2/Capterra. If third-party validation volume is a key factor in your decision, that's a point in its favor. Ganty is newer here.

Migration

GanttPRO can export to Excel or MS Project format. Import that into Ganty via 'Import from Excel'. Task name, start/end dates, progress, assignee, and parent are mapped automatically. Dependencies currently need to be re-created in Ganty.

From a team that switched

GanttPRO was capable, but the trial ran out before our internal approval went through. Ganty let us keep evaluating for free and supported invoice billing, so adoption was smooth.
